The Baby Room is a home away from home that is safe and full of love and nurturing. The process is designed to be effortless and smooth and our team prides itself on the relationships we have built with our babies and their families.
What is the day to day routine in the Baby Room?
The love and hard work that has gone into the development of the Baby Room is evident from the moment you step through the door. The team has carefully included as many elements from the Aistear curriculum as possible including sensory exploration which is vital for babies. The Baby Room also features a cosy corner, sensory boards, a balancing bar, a large mirror, a ball pit and more. While the Baby Room implements a structured routine we are of course working with babies and sometimes best laid plans are bound to be undone!
7.30-9.30am: Welcoming and settling our babies. Giving them time to wake up and adjust to the different surroundings. In this time some babies will have breakfast while others may sleep.
10.00-11.30am: We have a little snack and enjoy activities with the babies that are awake.
11.30-12noon: We get ourselves and the room ready for dinner.
12.00-12.30pm: Dinnertime. We encourage healthy eating habits and also encourage babies to feed themselves, where appropriate.
12.30-1.30pm: Free play including sensory activities, music, ball play, cuddles and books.
1.30-3.00pm: Sleep time
3.30-4.30pm: Tea time
4.30-6.30pm: Free play and nibbles. It is during this period that our babies are collected and their day with us ends.
How does the team communicate with parents and guardians?
Our team has an open door policy and we encourage parents to stay a few minutes upon collection to learn about their baby's day! The team completes frequent observation reports and every three months these are sent home for parents to review and enjoy. Parents and guardians can now also access up to date information regarding their child's activities and progress with the Child Paths system.
What should I send to the Baby Room with my child?
Nappies and wipes, nappy cream, a change of clothes, a water beaker, a gro-bag for sleeping and any special creams or lotions in the event your child suffers from a skin condition.
How do I apply for a space?
Places in the Baby Room are offered on the basis of full days for 52 weeks inclusive of all mid-term breaks and the summer holidays. For full terms and conditions please refer to the Centre’s Parent Handbook.
To apply for a space for your baby complete the application form and contact the Centre Manager. Please note once your place at the Centre and commencement date has been confirmed that payment must be arranged in advance from the date of commencement.
